Dr. John J. Leddy

CHAIR

Dr. John J. Leddy MD, FACSM, FACP, FAMSSM

John is a Professor of Clinical Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, and of the American College of Physicians. He is the Director of Outcomes Research for the UBMD Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. He is a Division 1 team physician and Medical Director of the University at Buffalo Concussion Research and Management Center. He is a Member of the Expert Panels for the Fifth and Sixth International Consensus Conferences on Concussion in Sport. In conjunction with Dr. Barry Willer, he developed the Buffalo Concussion Treadmill Test.

Dr. Chad Cook PT, PhD, FAPTA

Chad is a professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at Duke University. He has secondary appointments in Population Health Science and the Duke Clinical Research Institute. Chad has over 34 years of clinical experience as a physiotherapist. He is a prolific researcher with over 375 peer reviewed publications and over 3 million in lifetime external funding as a principal investigator. Chad specializes in musculoskeletal research and is a recipient of numerous awards recognizing his excellence in teaching, research and service.

Dr. Julia Treleaven PhD BPhty, FACP

Julia is a Senior Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Queensland and a Fellow of the Australian College of Physiotherapists. With a research focus on whiplash and neck pain since 2000, she obtained her PhD in 2004, focusing on the neck's influence on sensorimotor control. Her ongoing research work also looks into the role of neck dysfunction in those with headache, dizziness, and post-concussion syndrome resulting from whiplash-type injuries. Julia is the world's leading author on cervical related proprioception and sensorimotor control. She has over 140 publications in this area, has written several book chapters and is an author of the recent title 'Management of neck disorders - an evidence based approach.' Julia practices part-time as a physiotherapist in a private practice, specializing in headache, whiplash, cervicogenic dizziness, and post-concussion syndrome management. A sought-after speaker, she has delivered addresses at numerous national and international conferences and workshops in the area of neck pain, whiplash, headache, concussion, and dizziness.
